Welcome to Atlantic Academy.  We opened in September 2018, in the inspirational setting of the North Devon Coast, our new academy offers a unique secondary school experience.  We are a small school community, and pride ourselves on the passion and enthusiasm staff have for the education of our students.

Working as part of the Launceston College Multi-Academy Trust, we combine the benefits of specialist staff from a large organisation, with the community approach of a small school.  Students have the chance to develop their knowledge, skills and understanding through the subjects they study, as well as the extra curricular activities which are available.

Our community of students excel in may areas; their role as student leaders, they are passionate about the environment, participation in a range of activities and commitment to their learning.   Our staff support this through excellent pastoral care, a focus on developing teaching and learning and the provision of a broad and balanced curriculum.

As we grow to our full capacity over the coming years, we look forward to working with current and future parents to shape our futures together.  We welcome prospective parents and students to visit us, to see what Atlantic Academy has to offer.

Mighty oaks, from little acorns grow.

Important Message for Parents and Carers

Following the Government’s announcement on Wednesday 30th December, we will be amending out plans for a staggered start to the Spring term, following our scheduled training day on Monday 4th January 2021.  Initially, only  pupils whose parents are key workers and priority pupils will be on site for face to face education, all other pupils will be accessing lessons remotely.

Learning will continue be coordinated via our google classroom for students who are required to work remotely, if you wish to borrow a chromebook to facilitate student learning, please contact the school office to arrange this.  Additional devices are now available for students working at home, who previously may have had to share a device with a sibling.

Guidance for parents on our remote learning offer is now available on the website.

A rota has been drawn up to support students and parents know the schedule of online lessons, these are linked below.  At Key Stage 3, we have assigned timetabled teachers to deliver lessons face to face for pupils on site, or remotely for those at home.  This may mean students are following a slightly different timetable to normal, however we believe this improves the quality of education received.  Students will still receive instructions via thier normal google classroom, even if the lesson is delivered at a different time or by a different member of staff.

We have now started testing pupils and staff on site for coronavirus, and hope that alongside the current lockdown measures, this will help to reduce community transmission of Covid-19.

We look forward to students returning to Atlantic Academy soon.
