Following the Government’s announcement on Thursday 17th December, updated on Wednesday 30th December, we will be operating a staggered start to the Spring term following our scheduled training day on Monday 4th January 2021. Initially only pupils whose parents are key workers and priority pupils will be on site for face to face education; all other pupils will be accessing lessons remotely, including Year 11 students.
Learning will continue be coordinated via our google classroom for students who are required to work remotely, if you wish to borrow a chromebook to facilitate student learning, please contact the school office to arrange this. Students who were on site on Friday 18th December, and previously borrowed a chromebook have been issued these in advance. Chromebooks can be collected from the school office on Monday 4th January.
A rota has been drawn up to support students and parents know the schedule of online lessons. At Key Stage 3, we have assigned timetabled teachers to deliver lessons face to face for pupils on site, or remotely for those at home. This may mean students are following a slightly different timetable to normal, however we believe this improves the quality of education received. Students will still receive instructions via their normal google classroom, even if the lesson is delivered at a different time or by a different member of staff.
We await further guidance on the roll out of routine testing for Covid-19 for students and staff, and will share this information with parents when it is available. A copy of the letter sent to all parents on 18th December can be found here.
When students return to school, we will continue with our altered day structure, as well as enhanced cleaning regime, to minimise the risk of transmission. The plan for students and parents, along with our risk assessment, are published below.
Please note, our implementation plan and risk assessment are live documents, and changes in guidance or best practice will update our procedures. Parents will be notified of any significant changes.
Following the updated guidance, we have amended our visitors policy to reflect the changing requirements. Where possible, all meetings with parents and wider agencies will be held online. Should an in-person meeting be required, please ensure you call or email in advance. Our updated visitors procedures can be found below.
