Year 7 students prepare for their residential

The excitement is building amongst Year 7 students, as they approach their residential experience on Dartmoor at the end of term.  Last week’s parent briefing was a chance to find out more about the activities we will be doing, and what students need to bring.  If parents need to borrow any kit, please can they let Year 7 coaches know as soon as possible so we can arrange this. We will post feedback from students once they have completed their trip!

Atlantic Academy opens it’s doors

We are delighted to welcome students to the new Atlantic Academy site, and are now enjoying the opportunities to support learning.  Students started term on Wednesday the 5th September, with excited anticipation for life in our permanent home. We will feature some feedback from students on their first few days, and include some pictures of classes in action.

Students celebrate GCSE results

We are delighted to publish the 2018 GCSE results, which sees many students surpass their expected results.  We are enormously proud of achievements in further maths, with all students achieving A* Distinction to B grades; a number of students also gained the much coveted grade 9 in GCSE maths.

Students achieving the very highest grades include:

Angus MacDonald with an incredible five grade 9s,

Sacha Peers with an impressive three grade 9s

Mackenzie King with a fantastic two grade 9s

Morgan Veitch and Jack Daniel who each achieved a grade 9.

We are also hugely pleased to announce that the highest grade in GCSE PE was gained by Imogen Old, with a grade 8.  Imogen achieved well across he board whilst simultaneously completing the demanding Sports Leader Award.

We wish all of our students the very best as they move onto the next steps of their education careers.
