Academy Information

Atlantic Academy is part of the Launceston College Multi-Academy Trust, which aims for young people to become happy, responsible and successful by learning the knowledge, skills and value which are important for society. The Trust comprises of 3 secondary schools and 3 primaries; the Launceston College Primary Campus is currently being developed as a new primary school to serve the town of Launceston.  The 3 secondary schools, Launceston College, Bideford College and Atlantic Academy, work closely together to ensure that all students have access to high quality education which prepares them for future life.

Excellent attendance is essential to excellent progress.  We expect students and parents to make every effort to attend school regularly, and to work with the school staff to facilitate this.

Local Governing Body

We would still like to recruit new members for the Local Governing Body of Atlantic Academy.  The focus of this body will be the teaching and learning taking place at Atlantic Academy; members of the Atlantic Academy Local Governing Body may also be asked to sit on the MAT board and MAT finance, assets and audit committee.

Please note the change of the early May bank holiday in 2020, from Monday 4th May to Friday 8th May, to coincide with the 75th anniversary of VE Day.

Please note the changes in the Summer 2 half term to accommodate a staff training day on Friday 9th July 2021.

Staff INSET days in the academic year 2020/21 will take place on Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th September 2020, Monday 2nd November 2020, Monday 4th January 2021 and Friday 9th July 2021.

Ready to learn

All students should be ready to learn.  They will show this by:

  • Being smartly dressed in the correct uniform
  • Being on time for school and lessons
  • Having the correct equipment and resources for each lesson.

From February half term, all staff will be using the eContact book to share homework information with students.  Students need to log in using their google passwords, and the site can be accessed by following this link.

Please contact the office should students have difficulty logging on, we are working to resolve parental log in difficulties.
