Update on the re-opening of schools – January 2021

Following the update from the Government on the 30th December 2020, we have amended our plans for the return of pupils in January 2021.  We continue with our planned training day on Monday 4th January 2021, with only pupils whose parents are key workers, or priority pupils, returning to face to face school from Tuesday 5th January.  All other pupils, including Year 11 students who are not in these groups, will start the term with remote learning.

An overview of lessons, including the rota of lessons for Key stage 3 pupils, can be found on the links below:

Week commencing 4th January 2021

Week commencing 11th January 2021

Definitions for priority pupils have widened since the previous school closure from March 2020, and now includes all students with EHCPs, students who  work closely with social workers, young carers, students who are in care, including being looked after by relatives under special guardianship orders, or have been adopted from care.  School can also offer discretionary places for those who may be adversely affected by the school closure in terms of mental health or not having a suitable place, or ICT capacity, to access remote learning.  Please contact the school office if you feel this applies to your child, and you have not been advised to return to school in January 2021.  The office will be open on 4th January.

We ask that parents complete the google form sent out via school comms on Friday 18th December, to confirm which students will be attending the school site from Tuesday 5th January 2021. If you need to borrow a chromebook to ensure students can access all of thier lessons from Tuesday 5th January 2021, please contact the school office on Monday 4th January to arrange to collect a device.
