New requirement for face coverings to be worn in school

This evening, new advice has been issued by the Government, as stated below:

In schools where pupils in year 7 and above are educated, face coverings should be worn by adults and pupils when moving around the premises, outside of classrooms, such as in corridors and communal areas where social distancing cannot easily be maintained.

If students are exempt from wearing face coverings for medical reasons, please can you supply the school office with medical evidence, and an exemption card will be issued.  For students who travel on school transport and already have a card for this purpose, no further evidence is required. We therefore ask that from Thursday 5th November, all pupils wear a face covering when moving around the site.  Face coverings are not required to be worn in lessons unless a student wishes to.

Please contact the school office if you wish to discuss this further.
