Atlantic Academy staff and students are immensely proud of their 2019 GCSE results. They represent the hard work and commitment of staff, students and parents who believe in the power of education.
Some individual highlights include Alanna Heywood who achieved a grade 9 in GCSE Art, Robin Peers who gained 7 grades 7 or 8, as well as an A in Further Maths and a Distinction in his RSL Music qualification. The students who made the most academic progress based upon Key Stage 2 data are Robin Peers, Red Kacy Wright and Ettah Meader; our congratulations go to them.
Overall Atlantic Academy has seen improvement from last year in several areas, particularly in English, science and GCSE Art. We are also proud to have awarded a significant number of sports leaders qualifications and Duke of Edinburgh awards to students in Year 11.
Lynsey Slater, Principal, commented “As the school continues to grow in strength, we bid farewell to our Year 11 leavers as they begin exciting new adventures in further education or training. We wish all of our graduates every success in their future pursuits as happy, successful and responsible learners”.
Atlantic Academy term starts on the 3rd September, and we look forward to welcoming our new Year 7 cohort.
